General anesthesia is used when local anesthesia is not sufficient or the patient experiences increased anxiety before the procedure. Surgical removal of a tooth root in Wroclaw - how does the procedure proceed?

First, an X-ray imaging picture should be taken to see how deep the tooth root is embedded. When access to the root is difficult, a dental surgeon should perform the procedure, as tooth root extraction will require an incision on the gum and the placement of sutures.

Local anesthesia is then applied to make the procedure painless – you may, however, feel a slight pressure during the tooth root extraction, but it will not cause pain. The dental surgeon, using surgical instruments, will pull the tooth root out of the socket and remove it.

Surgical extraction of the tooth root requires the placement of sutures, which are usually removed after 7-14 days. Dental tampons are used to stop the bleeding, which should be chewed by the patient for 30 minutes after the procedure.

After the procedure, follow the recommendations below to avoid complications:

Do not eat or drink beverages for 2 hours after the tooth extraction procedure.
For the next few days, do not eat hot and spicy foods or heavy foods that require intense chewing.
Use cold compresses to reduce swelling.
If you are experiencing pain, use painkillers.
Avoid mouthwash and hard-bristled toothbrushes.
In case of bleeding, swelling, fever and severe pain, contact your doctor immediately!
